SPORTMODE crashes into debut with “Always You”

Date:

Indie-rock band SPORTMODE have made a loud splash with their debut single, “Always You,” channeling the fast and infectious beats of COIN and The Wrecks. The song comes just in time for the summer with its celebration of change and excitement for the future.

The single quickly sets the tone and energy with a full band sound kicking off the song. Distorted guitars, a fast bass line and crunchy full drum set let listeners know the upbeat style of indie rock they’re in for as the doubled vocals add to the 2010s band sound. Another sliding guitar in the second verse helps add to the energy despite the already packed instrumentation of the band. The conciseness of the instrumentation, with each instrument complimenting each other brilliantly, also stops the fast pace of the song from becoming overwhelming, letting listeners easily rock out. “Always You” is a great choice to debut with, showcasing the abilities of the band and tone of their music.

Another good reason for releasing “Always You” as an introduction to SPORTMODE are the lyrics, which reminisce on a happy past whilst still looking forward to the future. The first verse’s “I fear we’ll miss that apartment” followed by the second verse’s “This house is where we can grow in” shows a progression from past to future and the importance of letting go. This also reflects on the band, who are looking forward to what they can accomplish within the music industry.

“Always You” is a fun, catchy tune to set the summer off to and offers listeners a glimpse into the music SPORTMODE has to offer. The single is out now wherever you find your music.
