Beatlemaniacs world wide are celebrating “Global Beatles Day,” today June 25

Date:

The impact of The Beatles truly cannot be understated with the discography and impact of the Fab Four have rippled through history, art, music, and culture for the past 7 decades, and for many more to come. For the millions of fans worldwide, today is a special day.

Today, June 25th, is what Beatlemaniacs know as “Global Beatles Day”. A fan-made, fan-run day to listen, learn, share, and celebrate the legacy of The Beatles. As well as spreading their message of love and empathy, with the main idea that “Love is all you need.” The holiday was first celebrated back in 2009 by Faith Cohen, as a “thank you or love letter” to the iconic band. Now, in a major milestone for the event, Apple Corps Limited (a British multimedia company that was established by the members of the Beatles in the 60s) has formally acknowledged Global Beatles Day this year.

The date, June 25th, commemorates when The Beatles performed their monumental hit “All You Need Is Love” live on the BBC show Our World in 1967. The broadcast became the world’s first live international satellite television program with over 400 million people tuned in to watch it live in over 20 countries, resonating with listeners everywhere. The song’s message of peace, hope, and unity transcended borders, becoming one of The Beatles’ most defining moments in their career.

Today, fans find their own unique ways to celebrate: local events, listening parties, and more. Many indie record stores will be giving away posters and buttons to commemorate the holiday. Reach out to your favorite local record store to see how you can join in on the fun!

No matter where you are in the world, Global Beatles Day serves as a reminder of music’s ability to connect people across generations, cultures, and continents.

And remember, Love is all you need!
