R E L Embraces Her Inner-Voice on “Intuition”

Date:

R E L is a self-titled “EVOCAPOP” (evocative pop) artist from Los Angeles who brings her music to life through visceral lyrics that surface buried emotions within each listener. The newly released music video for her single “Intuition” embodies the importance of shedding the outer-mask we present to society and stepping into our true selves. R E L voices her subconscious desires to exist as she is, but can’t help feeling restrained by the weight of reality.

“Intuition” draws together diluted plunges of piano, hollowed out percussion, and a persistent vocal that triumphs over the subdued undercurrents. Creating a dark and ruminative atmosphere that slithers beneath R E L’s crystal-cut vocal, the sharp lyrics protrude through the surface and stick with you long after each listen. She sings, “Intuition / Seeing what is / Is such a powerful thing.” The music video portrays R E L as a French pierrot who pantomimes and performs for her audience that represents the outside world. The visuals evoke the feeling of putting on a show just to fit in. “Intuition” is a thought-provoking reverie on human nature that lifts the veil off our societal impulses to conform and accepts us for what we truly are.

R E L is a Los Angeles based artist with upwards of 20 million streams across platforms. “Intuition” is her latest release.
