Magdalene & Current Joys’ “Red Siren Pick Up” is a pop-rock banger for the freaks

Date:

Magdalene, the rising LA-based pop-rock cult leader, singer, and producer, reunites with former bandmate Current Joys on the third pre-released single of her potential debut record for 2026. Continuing the cathartic chaos of previous singles “DJesus” and “P*rn in the USA”, “Red Siren Pick Up” blends abrasive electro-pop distortions, edgy rock guitar riffs, and emotive indie lyricism.

“Red Siren Pick Up” details the inherent self-destructiveness of obsession as it puts us in the scenes of the next great American horror story: “Toxic tragedy / Hundred in a forty, eyes all over me / Take it off, blame the heat / Said baby don’t forget me when you leave.” The static, almost siren-like vocal production by Slushpuppy and Dylan Harrison makes the track a true cinematic experience; one that is as beautiful as it is haunting, one that embodies darkness as much as it does pure, unadulterated love.

Magdalene shares more about the track:

“’Red Siren Pick Up’ is about worshipping chaos and running towards it to feel alive.”

The accompanying music video further highlights Magdalene’s unhinged conceptual vision. Directed by Boned and PJ Charles, it stars Magdalene as a runaway bride unraveling after the death of the love of her life — a televised rockstar played by Current Joys, obsessed with the truck that killed him. Her desire burns brighter than ever now that he’s become just a figment of her imagination.
