Frria shrugs it off in “Say Dunno”

Date:

Frria Say Dunno

Frria is a Portuguese-Guyanese artist currently based in Toronto. He blends genres that complement his introspective lyricism to create a unique, fluid sound. In his tracks you can hear traces of pop and hip-hop, but also hints of Spanish guitar. He writes to the relatable, but also lets his personality show throughout his extensive discography. He’s already released 3 albums, an EP, and a rollout of singles since 2019.

“Say Dunno” is down to earth and could easily belong to Spotify’s “Chilled R&B” editorial playlist. You can hear the hip-hop influences, yet the melody follows an acoustic guitar lick. The song gives a coastal, beachy vibe while also giving you some classic R&B drum beats to bop your head along to. In this song, Frria allows himself to explore personal growth in an easygoing, experimental way. It’s a breath of fresh air regarding subject matter in mainstream pop, and an exciting taste into what’s to come for Frria’s artistry.
