The Getaway take the “High Road” with new indie pop single

Date:

Indie-pop duo The Getaway have just released their third single “High Road.” Hailing from Scotland, the duo blends timeless Scottish melodies with the pulse of modern pop.

“High Road” is a song about taking the path less travelled, always following your dreams and continuing to believe you were destined for something great in this life. Filled with positivity matched in both the lyrics and instrumentation, The Getaway captures how it feels to be on the exciting path to something better.

Formed by Ryan Lawrie of Glasgow and Jamie Adamson of Fife, The Getaway fuses the storytelling spirit of traditional music with the energy and emotion of contemporary indie sounds. Their debut single, “My Girl,” marked the beginning of their journey as a band as a cinematic introduction that captured both the nostalgia of home and the thrill of something new.

Though The Getaway is a new name, its roots run deep. Ryan’s career spans a decade of songwriting for BTS and other major artists across the world, while Jamie’s journey, from fronting Moonlight Zoo to performing across UK festivals and alongside artists like Cammy Barnes, reflects a shared devotion to craft and creativity.

Together, they create music that feels intimate yet expansive — Scottish tradition with a distinctly modern heartbeat.
