MONSTA X‘s hallmark vocalist KIHYUN sounds angelic in the English version of his track “So Good.” The original version is sung in Korean, and it’s the lead single of his latest EP BORDERLINE.
Kihyun’s dynamic vocal range is on full display over the raw, acoustic guitar-heavy melody. The true crescendo comes at the bridge and in the subsequent final chorus, where the song reaches its emotional peak. From the melody to KIHYUN’s vocals to the lyrics themselves, every piece of “So Good” is rich with sincerity.
Speaking of the lyrics, KIHYUN gets incredibly candid in the single. As he laments the ups and downs of his relationship, he’s also calling out his significant other: “You lift me up so I’m yours when you fall” and “Making friends with all my demons so you can use them when you need ’em” are just two of the lyrics that paint the picture of this toxic relationship. He’s built up, then torn down, and the cycle always repeats.
Take a listen to the English version of “So Good,” out now.
