Jackson Wang closed out the U.S. leg of his MAGICMAN 2 WORLD TOUR with a return to Barclays Center in New York City, once again taking the stage at the same venue that hosted his previous tour. The Hong Kong-born artist who first rose to fame as a member of GOT7 before building a solo career, has steadily evolved into a multifaceted performer under his own label, Team Wang. Supporting his third studio album, MAGICMAN 2, a raw and introspective continuation of his 2022 MAGIC MAN release, the show reflected themes of identity, emotional conflict, and acceptance. The sold-out world tour delivered a massive, immersive production that incorporated a live band, a tight-knit group of dancers, and impressive large-scale stage effects.
Outside of the venue, large groups of fans gathered early for VIP check-in. While waiting, many exchanged handmade freebies such as bracelets, pins, and bookmarks, while others documented the pre-show atmosphere on social media. Inside, the experience began to take shape as the MAGIC MAN logo stretched across large LED screens, with tracks from MAGICMAN 2 quietly playing as attendees filtered into their seats.
The transition into the show itself was marked by a captivating video montage of Jackson Wang, as the lights began to dim. Dancers slowly emerged from the fog, crawling across the stage as a silhouetted figure levitated above them under a bright spotlight. Opening with “High Alone,” Jackson sprang to life midair, suspended high above the stage as dancers circled below, reaching upward as if trying to tether him down. The cinematic visuals, combined with dense fog established a theatrical tone that carried throughout the night. Notably, Jackson opted for a stripped-down look, foregoing his usual smoky makeup in an aesthetic choice that aligned with the more vulnerable tone of MAGICMAN 2.
From there, the energy escalated quickly. Fiery reds, strobing lights, smoke, and pyro effects flooded the stage, with bursts of flames and sparks punctuating the music. The live band launched into a powerful sequence before dancers took their positions for “Access.” Jackson re-entered through a fog-covered doorway at center stage, descending the stairs to a roaring crowd. Dressed in a coordinated black suit and gloves alongside his dancers, he commanded attention, urging the audience to raise their hands and match his energy while executing the ultra sharp choreography.
A brief dance interlude followed, visually reinforcing more of the album’s central themes. Jackson moved across the stage in a tense push and pull with his dancers, trying to break free from their grasp. Each attempt to rise skyward again was cut short as they repeatedly dragged him back down, until he ultimately collapsed into their arms. What followed felt symbolic – the group began to pull at him piece by piece, as though stripping away the carefully maintained façade of perfection and control to expose something more raw underneath.
The performance then shifted to a more playful, sensual tone. Under deep red lighting, Jackson invited fans on stage for a personal experience, with the first participant fully embracing the moment and matching his energy during the intimate dance. Next, he asked the crowd, “Who is single?” and brought four more fans up for a second round, this time joined by his dancers. During this portion of the set, he also teased a few unreleased tracks, including “Contact” and “Long Gone,” highlighting the continued evolution of his music.
Following the high-energy interactions, the mood started to turn more serious. After a short video break, Jackson reappeared under a bright spotlight, dressed in a white ensemble with a top resembling a straitjacket. He delivered an emotional rendition of “Everything” before addressing the audience. “Thank you, New York! Thank you for spending the time and effort to give me this opportunity to perform and share my story with you guys,” followed by a deep bow. “I love you!” he added with a smile.
He then encouraged further audience participation, calling out, “New York City, let me see your lights!” As “Dopamine” began, the venue transformed into a sea of lights as fans raised their phones, creating a moving constellation while Jackson sat on the stage steps, taking in the beautiful moment with his crew.

An energetic band interlude followed the calmer segment, highlighting the musicians’ individual talents and setting the stage for the second half of the night. A standout moment came during “BUCK,” where dancers executed intricate choreography under shifting spotlights, at times resembling a kinetic stop-motion movement across the stage. Jackson blended into the group in disguise before revealing himself midway through, prompting the crowd to erupt with cheers and loud barking. Hard hitting guitar riffs and pounding drums drove the performance forward, culminating in synchronized pyro blasts and fireballs on the beat as the group finished their intense number.
Engaging the crowd once more, Jackson shouted, “NYC hands in the air!” to kick off “Let Loose,” pacing the stage and making a point to acknowledge every section of audience. “All the way in the back, don’t make me come up there!” he warned playfully. The momentum carried into “TITANIC,” where he teased, “Where you at New York?” while delivering gritty vocals amid bursts of fireworks. At one point he paused to deliver a candid message, “Listen, I understand New York. I understand the city is busy. But when you guys come here tonight, you better stand the fuck up! You better treat yourself better, have some fun. Life is already fucking crazy, so treat yourself better man!”
“GBAD” followed immediately, turning the venue into a unified chorus as fans waved their arms and sang along to the well known lyrics. Confetti cannons erupted during the extended ending, filling the air with a celebratory cascade of color that contrasted the earlier fiery setting. With energy at an all time high, Jackson took another moment to sincerely address the crowd.
“All I wanna say is thank you so much for having me, spending the time and effort to come all the way out here. I’m so blessed to be able to perform in front of you guys. Listen, the world is really crazy. We don’t know what’s happening tomorrow, right? The one thing we do know is that we are going to have fun tonight. If we are still alive, are we going to have fun tomorrow? That’s living in the moment. That’s all I want – to entertain you. Thank you!”
From that point, the third act quietly unfolded with a deeply personal video tracing Jackson’s childhood, highlighting the steady support of his parents and his journey from champion fencer to international musician. As the final photo of him with his parents lingered onscreen and “Dear:” played in the background, he appeared in a crisp white suit, initially facing away from the audience. Slowly turning around, he began to sing “Sophie Ricky,” a tribute to his parents, growing visibly emotional and pausing to compose himself throughout. The vulnerability carried into the next track, “Made Me a Man,” where he became overwhelmed, turning off his microphone mid-song to sit and steady himself as tears rolled down his cheeks. When the song came to a close, soft pink confetti drifted down like petals, and he bowed deep and long in gratitude of those who have always supported him. “Thank you, I love you.” he softly commented as the stage doors closed.
The final act shifted the tone once again, this time into a full after party celebration. Green lights and lasers swept across the venue as upbeat remixes filled the space, accompanied by fog bursts, flashing strobes, and more confetti blanketing the stage. “Thank you, New York! It means a lot to me. This is the last dance, are you ready? If you see any motherfuckers sitting down, pull them up!” he shouted, encouraging the crowd to fully embrace the moment. During the extended encore, he playfully called New York “too conservative” for not dancing enough, splashed water across the crowd numerous times, and pushed for even more participation. “Who’s joining me on stage? This time I want to get some of the second floor, and all the way in the back! If you’re ready to join me on stage, put your hands up! This stage needs to be full of you guys!” he exclaimed.
Taking that idea further, he decided that for his final U.S. stop, he wanted at least a hundred fans to dance with him. He stepped off the stage and moved through the venue, personally selecting attendees from their seats while his dancers fanned out to gather more participants from across sections. The stage continued to fill as he chatted with people along the way – teasing, laughing, and making each interaction feel very personal even with hundreds of people watching on the screens – an effortless, magnetic charm that has long been a signature of his personality.
After the dance party, the night quickly wound down. Fans returned to their seats and Jackson began to depart by expressing thanks one last time, taking off his shirt prompting another round of barking, and finally blowing a kiss straight into the camera as he walked offstage. While the North American leg of his completely sold-out MAGICMAN 2 WORLD TOUR has officially come to an end, Jackson Wang will soon bring his highly anticipated production to South America, carrying forward a show that balances striking visuals and intricate storytelling with his deeply personal journey at the heart of MAGICMAN 2.
