Arch Enemy brought chaos to the Heaven stage at The Masquerade in Atlanta as they brought their “Blood Dynasty” tour to a thunderous close. Joining them were Fit for an Autopsy and Thrown into Exile, creating a night that was a nonstop barrage of blistering metal that had the crowd roaring from the moment the lights dropped.
Thrown Into Exile kicked things off with an overwhelmingly energetic stage presence. They dominated the stage in a way that is rarely seen with the openers. Vocalist Evan Seidlitz unleashed a ferocious growl that cut right through the mix, and the dual guitars from Mario Rubio and Austin Monzon kept things heavy and sludgy. The band’s modern metal sound hit hard, and the crowd was already moshing before the first song ended. Thrown into Exile made a statement, that the night was going to be hardcore!
Fit for an Autopsy was up next with a bone shattering set. From the opening notes of “Lower Purpose”, the deathcore giants dropped wave after wave of brutal screams and breakdowns. Joe Badolato’s vocals were guttural, and he worked the crowd like a seasoned frontman. Guitarists Pat Sheridan and Tim Howley laid down massive riffs while also weaving in some technical licks. Drummer Josean Orta as always was a machine behind the drumkit. From start to finish, Fit for an Autopsy was intense, with the crowd giving it right back to them, as crowd surfers continued over the top and the pit stayed wild. The crowd was primed for the main event!
Then came Arch Enemy, and they did not disappoint as they set the tone right out the gate with Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls” rang throughout the venue as the band took the stage. Arch Enemy opened with “Deceiver, Deceiver”, giving the fans that iconic sound right off the bat. Alissa White-Gluz was an absolute powerhouse, shifting effortlessly between her overpowering screams and clean vocals, all while dominating the stage. Guitarists Michael Amott and Joey Concepcion shredded with surgical precision as their riffs filled the Masquerade and the Atlanta Underground. The setlist was a perfect mix of old and new, with staples like “War Eternal,” “The Eagle Flies Alone,” and “We Will Rise” delivered the hits for the long time fans, but newer tracks off Blood Dynasty proved the band isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Their whole set was a journey through the band’s legendary catalogue and a perfect way to end an amazing tour.
The Blood Dynasty tour was a smoothy of raw energy, technical skill, and a deep communal spirit that only the metal community seems to have. Even without BAEST on the bill for this final stop of the tour, every band crushed their sets. Arch Enemy may have been the headliners, but each act brought their own fire. If you were lucky enough to catch this tour, you know how amazing it was, if not, well don’t miss the next one!
