Mr. Dibbs, the renowned American DJ and hip-hop producer and founder of the legendary hip-hop collective 1200 Hobos warmed up the crowd Saturday night. After engaging with fans long before the show at the merch table he took the stage bringing over 20 years of touring experience alongside Slug and Sage with dynamic energy and expertise to the venue.
Indie rap artist and CEO of Strange Famous Records, Sage Francis took the stage as he brought his signature blend of creative storytelling and powerful lyricism to the crowd. Sage captivated the audience with his thought-provoking songs, including “The Best of Times,” “Makeshift Patriot.”
Francis later commented in a heartfelt moment, that Chattanooga had quickly become one of his top three favorite stops on the tour, cementing the city’s place in his heart. Francis continues to push boundaries in the indie rap scene, delivering performances that are both artistically rich and powerfully engaging.
Headlining the stage in celebration the 20th anniversary of their beloved You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having album, Atmosphere performed songs including “Little Man” and “Smart went crazy.” Sean Michael Daley, or better known as his stage name Slug, has often avoided anniversary tours, calling them “corny,” but after some playful teasing from his kids about being “old and corny,” he embraced the moment as the perfect time to celebrate. In addition to the anniversary tracks, Slug performed some of his favorites like “God Loves Ugly” and “Trying to find a balance”
25 + years since their debut in 1989, this tour, which will hit 25 cities in 2025, brought fans a mix of nostalgic hits and fresh energy. Slug’s introspective rhymes and thought-provoking lyrics provided a glimpse into his personal reflections on life, relationships and the world around him. As the night wrapped up, Slug surprised the audience with an impromptu freestyle that earned rave reviews from himself, a “7 out of 5” performance that had the crowd buzzing and left a special memory for fans that felt one of a kind just for them.
