Taylor Felt teases sophomore EP with new single “TANLINES”

Date:

Running past a thick, heavy electronic key soundscape, Taylor Felt lets go for a fun time on her latest single, “TANLINES.”

Felt released the single as part of her upcoming EP, ELECTRABLOOM, which arrives July 9. Heavy on instrumental production, the dance-pop track is loaded with deep synths that tie the repetitive lyrics together: “Now we’re running, yeah we’re running / Yeah we’re running / Yeah I can’t hide these / Tanlines, if I try / The sunlight burns, burns / Yeah I can’t hide these/ Tanlines, if I try.”

The danceable single builds up to the end, as the keys riff off until they melt together.

Felt said that she intended to make a darker synth-pop anthem after thinking of the song’s title. She shared more about the song,

“I initially wrote it for sync, but kept it for myself because of how much I fell in love with the electric energy and infectious hook. The song is vague enough for people to create their own interpretation of the message.”

Her sophomore EP, ELECTRABLOOM, features seven tracks that infuse similar hyperpop production. Two other singles, “VERTIGO” and “MOVE A LITTLE,” are already out in anticipation of its arrival.
