Natalie Jane’s highly-anticipated SICK TO MY STOMACH EP is now available via Capitol Music Group/10k projects. Featuring Natalie’s exhilarating vocal range that she describes as “energetic, dark pop,” makes complex feelings relatable on this EP. “I love bringing a lot of energy and drama to my productions that I think stays in the general pop lane.”

Natalie Jane shared some personal insight on the creation of SICK TO MY STOMACH with Melodic Magazine.

Creating this project has been so fun. I feel like I have explored new sounds that I have not used on my last project, Where Am I?. There is one song that is just me and an acoustic guitar, there is an intense electric, dark pop anthem, there is a very straight pop happy sounding song, and so much more. I love exploring new sounds with new people.”

The seven-song collection is already racking up hundreds of thousands of streams and Natalie Jane alone has almost 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Natalie shares what is it like having such a large platform at a young age. “It’s hard to take a step back and look at what I have achieved for my age because I tend to compare myself to everyone around me who is doing better than me.” Natalie states honestly with Melodic Magazine. “It’s also tough to define what I think ‘doing better than me’ is. Is it based on views? Streams? Ticket sales? Happiness? Obviously I am very grateful for everything I have achieved and have grown, but I think having a large platform at a young age causes a different type of stress and anxiety that I didn’t expect to have at 20 years old.”

To help everyone feel accepted and belong with nerves and anxiety, Natalie elaborates the name behind SICK TO MY STOMACH and the message behind it. “The main message of this project is that everybody feels sick to their stomach at some point. When I get stressed or nervous, I tend to feel it in the pit of my stomach. Or I’m in love and I feel butterflies, I feel it in my stomach. I think everyone can relate to this sort of anxiety and it is OK to feel that way.” Even giving it a cute and “friendly” name, Natalie shares how the Twisted Tummy Club came about. “I say anyone that has felt that type of sick to their stomach is a part of the twisted tummy club, a club that I created for people to feel accepted and feel like they have somebody that they can relate to when it comes to that type of anxiety.”

The incredibly intimate centerpiece of the project and Natalie’s favorite from her EP, “June,” takes listeners on a sweet yet painful journey. “My favorite song on the project is June,” Natalie shares about the track. “It is a song about wanting to go back to simpler times when you had no worries in your head and you were just in love and did not have to think about the future. It’s definitely outside of the type of music I normally make and I think that’s what makes it so special.” Natalie Jane knows the love she has is fading and delicately yet painstakingly sings, “I could hold you here forever tangled in my arms / My salty hair, your sandy sweater, underneath the stars / Is this a dream? And if it is, please don’t wake me.”

“Somebody to Someone” is a soaring ballad that evokes feelings of longing for a connection that will last, and in “Yucky,” Natalie Jane is backed by elements of alt-rock and UK dance as she loses herself to love. “can i see you tonight?” brings up feelings of frustration over exes, while “The Top” features a sense of motivation as Natalie Jane overcomes the challenges in her path.

Though there are elements of alt-rock and UK dance vibes within the EP, Natalie explains where a lot of her inspiration comes from on this EP. “Billie Eilish and Bishop Briggs were a big inspiration for me for this project. I love the intensity that both of them bring to their music, but they are also capable of singing very soft and beautifully which is something I look up to – people can be diverse with their sound and their artistry.”

The final track on the EP, “The Top,” was recently featured in Netflix’s film Uglies, a truly special moment for Natalie. “That was a crazy full circle moment for me. Uglies was my favorite book growing up. I remember I was like 13 years old always looking for when the Uglies movie would come out or who the cast would be… When my manager told me I had a song in the movie, I cried.”

Natalie Jane’s SICK TO MY STOMACH Tour will kick off Jan. 8 in Brisbane, Australia. The tour will include stops in North America and Europe, concluding on March 19 in Vienna, Austria. “I’m super excited to leave for tour at the top of 2025,” Natalie shares about exciting stuff coming up in the near future. “I’m going to Australia for the first time! I’m also going to all new places in America and visiting some of my favorite places in Europe. Touring is my favorite part of this career because I get to meet people all around the world who can relate to me on some level.”
