Niko Moon announced his new album, ROOTS, due out July 17, along with a fall headlining tour.
On Friday, May 15, Moon announced his brand-new album, which will be released on all streaming platforms on Friday, July 17, alongside the release of his new song “RICH MAN.”
This marks the second release from Moon’s new era, first led by his song “GEORGIA (ROOTS)” which features the iconic sample of “Georgia On My Mind” made famous by Ray Charles.

In speaking on the new album and single, Moon said:
“I’ve spent a long time building my life as a singer, songwriter, husband and father, and while that journey has taken me to some beautiful places — including my home now in Nashville — I started feeling pulled back toward the places that raised me: Tyler, Texas, Atlanta, and Georgia This album is an homage to those places, those memories and the stories that shaped me. ‘ROOTS’ draws not only from my own life, but from the musical history of Texas, Atlanta and the South as a whole. Sonically and personally, this album is a bit of a change for me. Instead of writing about taking somebody to the beach or out to a party, I wanted to take people back to where I come from — back to my roots, and back to the life I’m living today with my family.”
“RICH MAN” has been described as a song about realizing that the most valuable things in life have nothing to do with money or material things, said a release. Moon defined “real wealth” as coming home to his wife, raising their children and “building a life together.”
“This song is really about redefining what being rich means to me, and at the end of the day, family is the most valuable thing I’ll ever have,” Moon said.
As part of the announcement, Moon also shared that he will take ROOTS on the round with his BACK TO MY ROOTS fall headline tour, which kicks off on Sept. 11, in Youngstown, OH. Additional stops will include Columbus, Chattanooga and more.
