Making dance pop music that is unabashedly Black, queer, and feminine, BAYLI brings back the iconic 2010s club resistance energy through bold imageries, hooky lyrics, and bouncy beat drops that are unmistakably hers.
“Everyone” marks the second single release for her new era after “Monster,” following the success of her debut album NO RE-ENTRY which officially put her on the ever-reviving recession-pop landscape.
Before electrifying dance floors everywhere, BAYLI was the lead vocalist of the Brooklyn-based indie rock band The Skins. Her seamless transition from soulful rock diva to underground party girl is a kind of sonic and visual elasticity very few could muster. NO RE-ENTRY does not feel like a trendy rebrand but like an undercover artistic identity waiting to come out of her: “she’s not chasing trends – BAYLI is the trend,” as she herself put it best.
Amidst the countless party anthems about sitting pretty in VIPs, flexing invites, getting hot guys, and being white-girl wasted on champagne and rooftops, BAYLI literally just wants everyone to dance. And it is hard not to shake your body even just a little to a track with such slick, sticky, and snappy production.
Blending melodic rap, classic club banger songwriting, and fun bubblegum visuals, “Everyone” reminds all the pop girlies to dance like there’s no tomorrow when so much of dancing has become about looking hot and sexy on your digital camera. BAYLI is proof both things can be true.
“Everyone” is out everywhere now.
