LIVE PHOTOS: Dead & Company // Atlanta, GA

Date:

Dead & Company made their stop in Atlanta last Friday night and did not fail to satisfy. With Lakewood Amphitheatre crowded with Deadheads coming as far as Los Angeles to come see the band, the stage was set for an amazing night of nostalgic tunes.

Set 1 was highlighted by a lively Dixie Cups cover of Iko Iko and performances of many Grateful Dead classics such as Brown Eyed Women and I Need a Miracle. The chemistry between John Mayer and former Grateful Dead member Bob Weir was almost reminiscent of the chemistry between Weir and late frontman Jerry Garcia.

Set 2 was full of many more classics including Here Comes Sunshine, Eyes of the World, and a masterful John Mayer driven Althea. The drum solo between Drums and Space led by Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann was filled with tribal vibes and was another highlight of this fantastic set. Later, the night was ended with a cover of Bob Dylan’s All Along the Watchtower and Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode for the encore.
