For some in hardcore, Terror is a vessel for nostalgia, recalling the 2000s “glory days” — depending, of course, on how you view that era. In 2026, they are proving they are far more than a legacy act. Instead, they have remained consistent and uncompromising in their DIY ethos, demonstrating time and time again their willingness to play for a sweaty room of 100 just as readily as for festival stages like Sound and Fury, which draws roughly 10,000 attendees.

Still Suffer, now available via Flatspot Records, is a masterclass in raw lyricism, chuggy riffs and continued innovation. The opening track, “Erase You From My World,” immediately establishes Terror’s signature aggression, leaning into an almost minute-long breakdown before Scott Vogel’s vocals even enter the mix. Meanwhile, the single “Fear the Panic” is stomping and fast-paced, featuring a guest appearance from Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music.

The record features a heavy-hitting guest roster, including Jay Peta (Mindforce), Brody King (God’s Hate) and Dan Seely (King Nine). Through these collaborations, the band — likely intentionally — pays homage to their anchor points: Los Angeles, which has embraced Terror since the beginning, and New York, where Vogel currently resides.

Perhaps the most impressive track, “Deconstruct It” is an aggressive album closer that proclaims, We’re all living inside shame / there’s got to be a better way.” While the song itself clocks in at just over two minutes, the track runs for eight minutes. After a brief pause, it shifts into an almost six-minute stream of voicemails left for Vogel, featuring everyone from hardcore legends to newer, familiar faces like Austin Sparkman (Haywire) and Andrew Vacante (Combust).

These features amplify the album’s central theme: collective resilience, which is the DNA of hardcore. By pulling voices from across its geographic anchors, Terror reinforces that their message isn’t just a monologue, but a conversation — something closer to a manifesto. In some ways, this album reinforces the concept that life is pain. There is war, there is violence, and there is certainly panic. Yet what Terror reminds us of is the need to Still Suffer — the need to keep going, to sacrifice for the people and things we love, to keep moving when the weight becomes unbearable and to rebuild ourselves through both failure and success.

On April 23, the eve of Still Suffer’s release, the band shared a documentary titled “A Deeper Struggle” to accompany the record. Directed by Derek Rathbun, the film follows the band’s Latin American run this past spring. It offers a raw, reflective look at the necessity of finding balance against the reality of touring and what it means to be a mainstay in the hardcore community for over two decades.

You can catch Terror on tour to support the upcoming release alongside End It, Pain of Truth and newcomers Start Today. Tickets are available here.
