The highly-anticipated announcement of the 2026 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially been released. The list includes huge names that many will be excited to hear are finally getting their place in this renowned hall:
- Phil Collins – Second induction; previously inducted with Genesis
- Billy Idol
- Iron Maiden
- Joy Division/New Order
- Oasis
- Sade
- Luther Vandross
- Wu-Tang Clan
For the 41st annual class, over 17 nominations were made — a new record — but the final inductee decisions came down to eight legendary, diverse acts. Nine nominees were not selected for this year’s induction, though by Hall of Fame standards, a pass translates to “not now” versus a snub. These nominees included beloved artists such as Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, P!nk, and Shakira.
The inductees were announced during a live broadcast of American Idol, which was full of Rock Hall-themed performances and hosted by none other than 2022 Hall of Fame inductee Lionel Richie, alongside Ryan Seacrest. This year’s class — spanning the genres of rock, punk, R&B, and hip-hop — will be inducted on Saturday, November 14, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be added to Disney+ and ABC to stream in December.
