Twenty-four years after their initial debut, Terror will release their 10th full-length album Still Suffer this Friday, April 24, via Flatspot Records, further securing their spot as one of hardcore’s most influential and consistent bands. Fresh off the singles “STILL SUFFER” and “DESTRUCTION OF MY SOUL”, the band has released a third single — “FEAR THE PANIC” — featuring the legendary Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music. Co-produced by New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert, the track is filled with hardcore aggression and groovy riffs.
Directed by Derek Rathbun, the video combines live footage of Ragan and Terror frontman Scott Vogel with a martial arts narrative that mirrors the track’s lyrical focus on persistence in the face of panic or failure.
This message aligns with the DIY ethos of the band, manifesting a greater good to come from subculture and its reach. Last Fall, at Furnace Fest, guitarist Martín Stewart told Kerrang! Magazine:
“I’m in my 40s, I’ve seen a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of vultures come and go where they’re trying to capitalize on what’s cool at the moment, but right now this feels more accessible and bigger than it’s ever been… It’s brought this underground culture into the mainstream […] and because of the nature of what this is to me, there’s generally been a positive message behind it that the world could use. We live in a fucked-up world, and maybe it’s naive to think that we could make a change, but I don’t think it’s impossible for this sort of music to have a positive impact on the greater world.”
You can catch Terror on tour to support the upcoming release alongside End It, Pain of Truth, and newcomers Start Today. Tickets are available here.
