The Last Dinner Party continue to prove that they are simply the best as they put on a show stopping performance at a very sold out Roadrunner in Boston. The band, hailing from London, England, is a breath of fresh air. They released their second album last year called From The Pyre, and it is a pure work of art. Fans were in for a treat in Boston as they got to hear songs from the new album live and they go just as hard live as they do on the studio version.
If there’s one thing about The Last Dinner Party, it’s that they understand the power of presentation just as much as sound. They’re not simply playing songs, they’re shaping an experience. And on this night, it was one that felt both meticulously crafted and completely alive. They are a band that were made for the stage and made to perform and they put on one hell of a performance in Boston. From the moment the lights dimmed, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a standard gig. The Last Dinner Party delivered something far more deliberate, part concert, part stage production, and entirely immersive.
At the center of it all is Abigail Morris, whose performance feels as much like acting as it does singing. She moves across the stage with purpose, shifting from poised stillness to explosive energy in seconds. She is a true performer, drawing in the crowd in every moment. The band took moments throughout the show to thank the fans and their entire crew and showing appreciation for Boston. What stood out was when Abigail came down to the crowd to read signs and banter with everyone. One fan had made a crown for the band, and one had made a chainmail top, to which Abigail took from them and showed appreciation for them. Though the funniest moment of the night had to be when Abigail spotted a fans sign that advertised her school’s Shakespeare Society’s annual reading of the works, which then prompted Morris to read Shakespeare’s Sonnet 115 to the room to the crowds delight.

The band played a mix of songs from the new album like “This is The Killer Speaking”, and “Count The Ways”, as well as songs from their first album “Prelude To Ecstacy” like “The Feminine Urge”, and the fan favorite “Nothing Matters”. They even slid in a song called “Big Dog” which is unreleased. When they played “This Is The Killer Speaking”, Abigail told the crowd to not have their phones out just for this song, and just have fun and live in the moment, and it was so refreshing to see not a phone in sight. Before the song got to the final chorus, Abigail stopped mid song to teach the crowd the chorography for it. Step by step she did a dance move and had the crowd repeat it and then put it all together. It was such a cool moment to witness the unbridled joy of no phones and a crowd that all danced in unison.
The Last Dinner Party didn’t just perform songs that night, they constructed an atmosphere, a narrative, and a shared emotional experience. If this show is any indication, they’re not just riding a wave of hype, they’re building something with real staying power. They are truly stars and always put on such a fantastic show, it is truly not to be missed out on, so be sure to catch The Last Dinner Party at a show near you!
