Recent News: Released her debut album No Way To Relax When You Are on Fire on September 13. Begins her headlining North American tour on September 22.

Last Friday, rising bedroom pop icon Dora Jar released her highly anticipated debut LP No Way To Relax When You Are on Fire via Island Records. A project that emits fantastical energy and whimsical charm, Jar’s inaugural full-length album conveys a variety of emotions — everything ranging from happiness to sadness to pure wonder.

Nothing less of an indie pop, folk-infused fantasy, Jar’s album may be described as mind-altering and highly visual from the musicality alone. Remaining true to the artist’s brand of artistry, No Way To Relax When You Are on Fire can be compared to snowflakes fluttering through one’s mind: cooling in it’s catharsis and soft in its poetic delivery.

However, Jar doesn’t plan on slowing down following the albums release as her upcoming Behind the Curtain Tour begins September 26, where she will play across the states through the rest of September and the majority of October.

Although a rising star, Jar has already had a highly successful musical career. After releasing her debut EP Digital Meadow in 2021, she no sooner joined The Neighborhood as a supporting act on their 2021 tour. In 2022, Jar released her sophomore EP Comfortably in Pain and went on to open for Billie Eilish on her Happier Than Ever World Tour. That same year, Jar was signed on to Island Records of Universal Music.

Jar has earned praise from the likes of SPIN, Pitchfork, NPR and was named by Vogue and Alternative Press as a rising star to watch. Last year and into this year, Jar opened for The 1975 on their Still…At Their Very Best Tour.

Renowned for her unique and fairy-like approach to music, Dora Jar is an artist that charmingly sticks in your head. A musician who advocates for understanding and acceptance of all, Dora Jar’s resilience and ethereal approach to her craft is what cements her as a definitive artist to keep on your radar.
