Indie-pop singer Clairo, also known as Claire Cottrill, has returned to the music scene with her latest single “Sexy to Someone” and an exciting announcement: her third studio album titled Charm is arriving on July 12. The record marks her departure from Fader and Republic Records, as it’s her first self-released studio album.
In January, Clairo began teasing Charm with a post on Instagram captioned “maybe this year” and subsequently, revealed a release date for the new track, “Sexy to Someone.”
Her lead single off the upcoming record, “Sexy to Someone” is about wanting someone to find her sexy to have something interesting in her life. She sings, “Sexy is something I see in everything / Honey sticking to your hands / Sugar on the rim / Nothing more nothing less of thought.” Her signature infectious melodies and smooth vocals provide some insight into what fans can expect from Clairo on Charm.
Clairo traditionally works with a single producer for each of her albums; Charm was co-produced by Leon Michels of the Dap-Kings and El Michels Affair.
Charm is set to include 1970s-inspired vibes mixed with jazz, psychedelic folk and soul.
