Yung Bae releases “Awesome Ways,” announces ‘Groove Continental: Side B’

Date:

With the release of “Body Talk” in May, Yung Bae has set himself up for a summer of moves and grooves. The cool riffs and rhythms from “Body Talk” encouraged listeners to get out on the dance floor, its “funky daytime disco” sound too good to ignore. Anyone who has been grooving along ever since should still continue to show off their moves, as Yung Bae is not ready to slow down with the vibrant music any time soon. This fall, the “dance-pop maestro” will be releasing Groove Continental: Side B, the highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s Groove Continental: Side A. Last year’s project caught on very well, its colorful collaborations garnering much buzz from the likes of NYLON, NPR, and Ones To Watch, and bringing Yung Bae to perform at sold out shows around the world – twice. To go alongside the album announcement, Yung Bae gives us a fresh preview of what is to come with “Awesome Ways”

For “Awesome Ways,” Yung Bae mixes his vibrant signature sound with the talents of one of his “music heroes,” Nile Rodgers. Over the summery and carefree beats, Nile expertly inserts impressive guitar licks and riffs, enhancing the track’s smooth vibe. Along with lines like “We keep our eyes open / We keep our minds open / If you’re not with it, that’s okay, our doors are unlocked every day,” the music is extremely inviting, making the track a safe space. You can check it out below.

Telling us more about “Awesome Ways,” Yung Bae explains,

“I remember listening to Nile’s guitar on countless tracks growing up. Flash forward to lockdown, I had the opportunity to fly out to his house and work for a few days, and this track is the result of that trip. He’s truly one of my music heroes, and this track feels so special being, able to combine our different talents.”

You can listen to “Awesome Ways” on platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple Music.
