King Princess — the project of Brooklyn-based artist Mikaela Straus — has announced her third album ahead of a performance on Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show.

The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and actor announced her third album, Girl Violence, her first release with section1, will be out Sept. 12. King Princess debuted the lead single, “RIP KP,” on the evening of Thursday, June 5, with a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

She also announced the new single and album alongside a Warren Fu-directed masterpiece, as well as a global tour.

The album, which according to a release was created in collaboration with Jake Portrait (Lil Yachty, Alex G, Unknown Mortal Orchestra), and Aire Atlantica (breakthrough: SZA’s “Low”), and has been described as “the sound of Straus picking up the pieces after her world fell apart.”

“RIP KP,” which was also accompanied by a music video directed by Warren Fu, finds the singer in a particularly demonic – and extremely gay – afterlife limbo. The song is filled with erotic euphoria and lust.

About the song, “KIP KP,” King Princess said:

“‘RIP KP’ is about the sexy side of girl violence – when love takes over your brain like a cordyceps and suddenly you’re getting fucked all over your house, acting a fool. It’s the perfect way to open the record: dramatic, unhinged, and a little tongue-in-cheek. I wrote it during a full ego death – leaving LA, my label, my old life – and somehow landed back in NYC making the music I would’ve obsessed over at 15. It’s a slutty anthem for the lesbians. We need debauchery this summer.”

King Princess also held a one-night-only show on the evening of Wednesday, June 4, for at Market Hotel in Brooklyn. She will later embark on a global tour, starting in the Austin City Limits in October, and heading out UK and Europe in December as well.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, June 13. For ticket information, click here.
