Dela Kay describes a lost love in her new ballad, “Anybody Else”

Date:

Dela Kay co-wrote her newest single, “Anybody Else,” with Nick Cozine and Whitney Fenimore, who all had a vision for writing a ballad. The pop punk singer had recently gone through a breakup and was still processing the details of the relationship. Dela Kay elaborates:

“We started to walk down memory lane with my past relationship, coming up with lyrics detailing my first date, then letting the current reality hit when writing the chorus.”

“Anybody Else” tugs at the listener’s heartstrings while describing the feeling of a lost love. The greatest lesson is that love and pain often go hand and hand, and that’s what Dela Kay tries to get across in this new single:

“Even though the relationship didn’t work out, knowing my heart has the capacity to love that deeply – despite the pain – is something to be hopeful for in my future.”
