The Weeknd will conclude ‘Dawn FM’ trilogy with ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’

Date:

Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd, has begun teasing what is considered his final album in the Dawn FM trilogy. The new album, titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, concludes the trilogy but does not yet have a release date.

The singer began teasing the new journey since Dawn FM — between lengthy music snippets to a singular concert in São Paulo — the Weeknd has finally revealed the title of the project. “This album represents the creative apex of the project, serving as the third and final chapter crafted with existential and self-referential themes as seen with the latest visionary teasers that have set fans ablaze with anticipation for this concluding installment.”

Produced by Live Nation, the Weeknd’s one-night-only concert in São Paulo will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Estádio MorumBIS. The show will feature an all-new live production, with $1 from each ticket sold going directly to the Weeknd’s XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports people facing starvation around the globe. As a United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador, a title he received in 2021, the Weeknd will partner with the organization to facilitate this donation.

Beginning with a reference to his career start in 2010, you can read the Weeknd’s message announcing Hurry Up Tomorrow below:

YESTERDAY WAS FOURTEEN YEARS AGO…

WE HELD OUR BREATH, FALLING INTO A SHIMMERING SEA IN THE AFTER HOURS OF THE NIGHT…

ATTEMPTED TO CLEANSE THE WOUNDS WITH MELODIES AND LIGHTS, A BULLETPROOF BANDAGE TO SHIELD WHAT LIES BENEATH.

IN A PLACE WHERE THE SEASONS NEVER CHANGED, WHERE TIME CEASED TO EXIST. BUT THEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM.

TODAY HAS FELT LIKE AN ENDLESS SPIN. I KEEP DISTORTING THE TRUTH, IMMUNE TO THE DIZZINESS, NUMB TO THE NAUSEA. WHAT LIES BENEATH — SCREAMS IN SILENCE.

I LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND FEEL BOTH OLD AND NEW, STUCK IN LIMBO AND UNABLE TO MOVE. I STILL HAVEN’T FACED MYSELF.

MORE SONGS COULD HELP, BUT WHAT DO I HAVE LEFT TO SAY? WOE IS ME IN MY GILDED CAGE, RIGHT?

THE VERY THING THAT ONCE MADE ME INVINCIBLE FAILED ME ON THE WORLD STAGE. A NEW TRAUMA SURFACED, OPENING FLOODGATES.

A NEW PATH AWAITS.

WHEN TODAY ENDS, I’LL DISCOVER WHO I AM.
