Long Island hardcore band Pain Of Truth is gearing up to release their sophomore album. Self-titled Pain Of Truth, the 11-track record is due out September 25 via DAZE, following a dedicated run of releases and worldwide touring since the band formed in 2020.
Produced by Will Putney (Body Count, Counterparts), the album finds the band doubling down on the East Coast hardcore sound that’s made them one of the scene’s most talked-about newer bands, while bringing an even heavier, more modern edge to their music. They’ve already previewed the record with “UNFORGIVEN,” and now they’re back with “STRANDED,” a particularly punishing track built around fast tempos and crushing mosh parts.
“STRANDED” arrives with a new video directed by Theo Sicurella, featuring footage from Danny Dog Pound that captures the intensity of Pain Of Truth’s notoriously chaotic live shows.
Pain Of Truth features vocalist Michael Brian Smith, drummer Nick Barker, guitarists Nik Hansen and Ridge Rhine, and bassist Zach Stachura. Since their 2020 debut, the band has become a fixture in the hardcore scene, combining old-school East Coast bark with sharp, socially conscious songwriting and a live set designed to inspire movement.
The band will hit the road this fall in support of the upcoming release, kicking off a North American headline tour October 14 in Montreal and wrapping up November 21 with a special no-barricade show at Brooklyn Steel. Support throughout the run will include Madball, 100 Demons, Killing Time, Mizery, and Contention. They’ll also join the ranks at major festivals, including Bloodaxe Festival in Tokyo, Furnace Fest, Sick New World, Flyover Fest, and Vans Warped Tour.
