Los Angeles hardcore band BLOODSHED just announced their new EP, Punishments Beyond Comprehension, arriving September 4 via DAZE. Alongside the announcement comes the release of “Limits of Tolerance,” their new single featuring Alex Barragan of Leave No Doubt.
With a clear foundation in the metallic hardcore tradition of bands like Integrity, Ringworm and In Cold Blood, BLOODSHED lean into a raw, ’90s-inspired sound built on aggressive riffs, unrelenting speed and menacing vocals. The new track captures that approach in full, balancing dense, groove-heavy instrumentation with bleak lyrical themes, while Barragan’s guest appearance adds another layer of intensity to the band’s already uncompromising sound.
Punishments Beyond Comprehension features six new tracks, opening with the previously released “Abhorrence” before moving through a barrage of heavy, no-frills hardcore. The EP was recorded and mixed by Andrew Solis and mastered by Nick Townsend, with the release also including four remastered bonus tracks pulled from BLOODSHED’s 2025 demo and their contribution to the Four Corners of Chaos split.
The band will hit the road in support of the release this fall, kicking things off with a September 11 show in San Diego alongside Division of Mind and Mongrel before joining 100 Demons and Death Before Dishonor for a West Coast run in October. BLOODSHED will also make an appearance at Flyover Fest in Oklahoma City this November, rounding out a busy stretch behind one of the year’s heaviest hardcore releases.
