soft siren is an up-and-coming dream-pop band from Los Angeles that is made up of artists Sidewalks and Skeletons, CASHFORGOLD, and Michael Coe (Count The Clock). Pulling inspiration from musicians such as Lana Del Rey, Mazzy Star, and Cocteau Twins the band has crafted their own hazy musical wonderland where ’90s shoegaze meets the warmth of ’70s psychedelia.
Their new single “When Morning Comes Around” is a moody indie rock song with a faint disco pulse that bubbles under the surface of soft ethereal harmonies. At its core, the song is about limerence, telling the story of two lovers who are trying desperately to hold onto one another while reality pulls them further and further apart.
The smooth production blended with the dreamy vocals of Jacqueline Lee envelop the listener in a soft and romantic reverie. The song captures the longing and exhilarating ache of late-night love affairs, taking a relationship’s most tender moments and putting them on full display. By capturing the moments in which this couple can’t be together, the track showcases when their love is most intense.
Equal parts wistful and hypnotic, “When Morning Comes Around” is sure to be favorite for all the yearners out there.
