Nette Fights Against Beauty Standards In New Song “A Natural”

Date:

Nette kickstarted her music career by playing live shows across Vancouver. There, she was introduced to the world as a talented storyteller, carefully crafting coming-of-age stories through her songs. Her latest release, “A Natural” highlights the unrealistic beauty standards bestowed on humans.

“A Natural” is a reflection on imperfections and how they are perceived by the public. Through emotional lyrics and a steady melody, Nette acknowledges the damage caused by comparing yourself to others. Lyrics such as “She walks in and she stops the party / Try twice as hard to look half as pretty / I’m not a natural / She’s a natural” show the pain and confusion these critiques from yourself and others can cause.
