Earlier this May, Lady Gaga paid a visit to Rio De Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach as a part of her promotional tour for Mayhem — her eighth studio album. Gaga performed her biggest hits, namely, “Judas,” “Poker Face,” and “Bad Romance” as well as more recent songs from the new album, like “Abracadabra” and “Garden of Eden.”
The concert saw people traveling from all over the country (and the world) to catch a glimpse of Gaga’s magic. A staggering 2 million people attended the show live, making it the highest-attended concert by a female artist. The setlist took millions of attendees on a journey through Gaga’s audacious and innovative artistry throughout her career.
Gaga’s Rio show was fully funded by the city in order to boost its economy, although she is not the first artist to host a concert of this sort. In May 2024, Madonna was invited by the city of Rio to perform at the same venue, drawing in an astonishing 1.6 million attendees. These concerts have proven immensely successful in Rio by incentivizing music fans globally to travel to Brazil. The city of Rio confirms that these concerts will continue to take place until at least 2028.
Lady Gaga will be taking The MAYHEM Ball to the US, Canada and Europe in the coming months, so be sure to grab your tickets and stream the album here in preparation for her visit to your city:
