On July 22, 2023, Harry Styles sat alone at his piano on stage in front of hundreds of people and played for 10 minutes. No background singers, no words, just Styles, an aching melody, and an arena full of fans with bated breath.
It has been nearly 780 days since that moment, and it seems as though on each of those the internet has been abuzz with rumors of Styles dropping new music. These rumors have been spun out of hope and fan theories, but no potentially direct reports, until now.
On August 19, Australian podcast host Fev, of the Fifi, Fev & Nick show, shared that he’d recently sat down with a person who is “very good mates with [Harry Styles]” who said that the HS4 can be expected late 2025 or early 2026, followed by a tour. This information is also supported by the X account @ABTLABinsider, which has been known to accurately predict information, and their tweet from August 6 stating,
Styles’ youarehome website also changed from saying “ 2022 Sony Music Entertainment” to “2025 Sony Music Entertainment,” further potentially indicating to fans that something new can be expected before the year’s end. Whats more, long time friend of Styles, Ed Sheeran shared backstage at the BRIT Awards that he’d “heard a little bit” of HS4 but was unsure of its release date. Despite this, Sheeran assured fans that the new work is “quality.”
It is worth noting, however, that via The Daily Mail, an insider shared that “Columbia Records is holding the release to align with Glastonbury Festival” in 2027. The insider source also went on to share that “his album isn’t finished yet, despite the speculation on some of the fan websites.”
Though the public would love new music from Styles, fans of his music, especially those heralded from the singer’s One Direction days, are familiar with a long wait between works. Whether it’s just a few more months or a few more years, I’m sure that the public will be steadfast in their wait if it means getting an album that Styles has deemed “perfect.”
