DYLYN voices a powerful cry for help in “Change Me”

Date:

DYLYN, a Toronto-based musician also known as Gwendolyn Lewis, is set to make a statement with her first single of the year, “Change Me.” With expressive vocals and heavy rock elements—such as thick, loud rhythm guitar and high-energy drums—DYLYN has changed the game in the alt-rock world and will continue to do so.

In October 2024, DYLYN released “Drown,” her first single in two years, exciting loyal fans who were eagerly awaiting her return. “Change Me” carries the same rock n’ roll energy as “Drown,” shaping a new era for DYLYN, who’s anticipating her forthcoming album in late 2025.

“Change Me” appears to stem from a dark time where pleading for help from a higher power—such as God—felt like the only way out. DYLYN, using her strong vocals, screams the chorus, “I’m asking God if he could / Change me / Change me,” while the heavy rock instrumentation advances the raw emotion of desperation and frustration. Fans of alt-rock/edgy pop—similar to the sounds of Paramore, Bishop Briggs and Hey Violet—should mark their calendars for this highly anticipated release.

About the single, DYLYN adds:

“‘Change Me” is a cry to transform when you really need help. It’s a call to a higher power. Sometimes when you’re in such a dark place, you reach out for hope. There are no atheists in foxholes.”
