Bluphoria exposes heartbreak in “Set Me Up”

Date:

Rising alt rock band Bluphoria has released their first single “Set Me Up”, an upbeat track about love gone wrong. The Oregon based group, led by singer and guitarist Reign LaFreniere, presents a fresh new sound for their upcoming album, due to be released in 2023.

“Set Me Up” is a catchy tune that carries both high energy and a relatable sense of frustration after experiencing heartbreak. The emotional load of the song is perfectly conveyed in LaFreniere’s vocals, in contrast with the lighthearted rhythm of the track. With a raw sound and influences that range from blues to psychedelic rock, “Set Me Up” is a cathartic journey that stays in your head long after the first listen.

The band has been working closely with GRAMMY award-winning producer Mark Needham, who describes them as “…a great young band with instinctive pop sensibilities combined with a cool edginess and rawness that make the song sound like a car driving almost out of control!”.
