President announce debut EP ‘King of Terrors,’ share new single “RAGE”

Date:

Following their mysterious, yet explosive, introduction into the rock scene, as well as their highly-anticipated live debut at Download Fest on June 15, President announce that their debut EP King of Terrors will arrive September 26. Along with the announcement, the band shares the album’s newest single and music video, “Rage.”

The name of the upcoming album is a biblical reference, with the phrase “king of terrors” used to describe death. The EP will explore themes regarding religion with death as the overarching focus.

“RAGE” pulls inspiration from the famous Dylan Thomas poem “Do not go gentle into that good night.” An appropriate influence for the upcoming EP, Thomas’ poem is about encouraging another to resist death, with one line reading, “Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

“RAGE” portrays President leaning much further into electronic compositions compared to their previous singles “In the Name of the Father” and “Fearless.” While the band’s inaugural releases incorporated heavy breakdowns and high-octane guitars, “Rage” shows President’s softer side, allowing melodic vocals and electronic instrumentation to intertwine.

Regarding King of Terrors, the band shares a statement that reads, “Forged in solitude. Shaped by memory. These are chapters drawn from the shadows we tend to sidestep — because facing them demands more than most are willing to give. President began as an attempt to confront the uncomfortable. To watch others embrace that confrontation has been quietly profound. There is still work to be done. We press forward.”

Ahead of the album’s release, President will play a sold-out show at The Garage in London on July 30. This December, they will tour alongside House of Protection as support for Architects on their Australian tour. President will continue to tour with Architects into 2026 when they support them on their European tour in January.
