Well, that didn’t take long.
PRESIDENT, the mysterious, masked metal group who only just dropped their debut single, “In The Name of the Father” on May 16, have officially sold out their first-ever headline show. Dubbed “The Inaugural Headline Rally,” the gig is set for July 30 at The Garage in London and marks the band’s first proper step into the live music scene after their debut set at Download Festival. Joining them on their July 30th will include rising darkwave duo Zetra.
If you blinked, you might’ve missed it. Tickets went up first for mailing list subscribers on May 21 and now they’re gone, with limited remains for on sale this Friday, May 23. Fans clearly aren’t wasting any time when it comes to being part of PRESIDENT’s next move.
In case you haven’t been following the campaign, PRESIDENT made waves earlier this year with a series of cryptic posts and their surprise addition to the Download Festival lineup, before they had even released a single track. Their debut song, “In the Name of the Father,” dropped on May 16 and introduced their blend of melodic, pop-tinged metalcore with heavy breakdowns and autotuned vocals. Think smoke-filled offices, eerie red lights, and intense visuals — all delivered by a frontman whose face we still haven’t seen.
Naturally, the internet’s gone into overdrive trying to figure out who’s behind the project. Some think there’s a link to Sleep Token, others are betting on it being some kind of rock supergroup. Either way, the hype is real and now there’s a sold-out show to prove it.
Whether you’re a day-one supporter or just catching on, PRESIDENT’s July 30 show is already shaping up to be one of the most intriguing gigs of the summer. One thing’s for sure… this campaign is only getting louder.
