Lee Cole opens his heart in new single “Fool”

Date:

“Fool” is the raw and emotional anthem that leads Lee Cole‘s upcoming EPĀ Letters To Myself. The new single signals a new direction for the South African artist. It’s vulnerable and self-reflective, as Cole thinks about the ups and downs of his relationship.

“Fool” feels like a cathartic release. All the anguish and heartbreak that has been pent up within comes through in every aspect of the song. Cole’s vocals especially capture that rawness that makes “Fool” so poignant.

Throughout the song, Lee Cole questions his own mind. The relationship feels like it’s crumbling around him, and anyone else might have let it fall, but not him: “I should walk away, but I stay.” Does that make him a fool, or does that simply make him human? The singer-songwriter’s lyrics capture the complexity of a tragic romance. It might be best to leave it all behind, but that decision is never simple; maybe the good memories outweigh the bad, or maybe, Cole is not ready to let go. No matter the reason, “Fool” is deeply real.
