MARIS proves even a ‘MOSH★PIT’ has room for heartbreak on new single

MARIS

MARIS is ready to make you cry on the dancefloor.

Just a few weeks after announcing her much-anticipated EP, MOSH★PITcoming September 18 – and letting fans hear the explosive and glittery title track, the LA-based pop star is showing us a different side to her chaos. The new single, “Losing People”, is out today, offering a peek at what happens when MARIS swaps her signature glam-pop aura for a dose of raw, authentic vulnerability.

Produced by Dylan Bauld, “Losing People” is a beautiful balance of MARIS’ soaring, expansive pop melodies with a diary-like approach to songwriting. The track explores heavy, hard-to-hold emotions of drifting from someone you once loved deeply. She explores heartbreak, but maybe more importantly, the quiet acceptance that follows.

While the track sonically departs from the high-energy bounce of previous tracks “Body is On Fire” and “Missing Me,” it still feels perfectly into the MARIS universe. Live, this new track might feel as if it’s a moment to breathe between the thrashing, a moment of catharsis before the release.

If her previous DIY college tour proved anything, it showed how MARIS’ music is best experienced live. This fall, she will embark on MOSH★PIT THE TOUR beginning October 1 in Portland and running until November 14 in her home of Los Angeles.

Demand was so high for her New York City stop at the Mercury Lounge that her first date sold out during presale, and a second added date instantly sold out right after. With Elton John singing her praises and a rapidly growing fanbase, MARIS is proving she can build unified, emotional spaces whether she’s making you jump, or making you feel.

We can’t wait to see more.
