Lucy Frost warns you to see someone’s true colors with her new single, “Lead Paint”

Date:

Building a future with someone can feel like you are painting the ‘perfect picture’ with your true soulmate, all to find out that the paint that was being used was poisoned with lead. In Lucy Frost‘s new song “Lead Paint”, the up and coming singer-songwriter toys with the sheer reality of realizing someone’s true colors through the edgy subdued production and metaphorical lyrics. “Lead Paint” rev’s that engine with our inner dialogue of the dynamic oof this relationship.

The brand new single presents its self a cathartic release of sobering and haunting thoughts. The poetic lyrics reflect , “Oh he feels like home / But got some therapy to do / And his walls won’t keep you safe / No / He might feel so warm / But he’s arteries run blue / Turns out there’s lead inside that paint”. We can fall in love with someone’s potential and ignore the person’s flaws that are beyond salvageable. Once the cloudy hazy blows away, we can see how the ‘perfect person’ turns out to be a trap.

Frost expands further by saying, “In ‘Lead Paint,’ we fall in love with someone’s potential, not who they actually are. We deny the blatant issues at hand and convince ourselves that we are the only ones who can truly fix them. But not unlike old houses built with toxic lead paint, this relationship was doomed from the start.”

Lucy Frost teams up with Mosaic and Graham Maola to make a grungy refreshing yet nostalgic production on “Lead Paint”. The track’s sound brings ghostly guitars, soft and atmospheric synths, delicate acoustics, along with alt rock textures.
