Canadian rapper/singer bbno$ has announced he will be hosting a virtual concert inside Speed Keyboard Escape, one of Roblox’s most popular games, and the event is slated to become one of Roblox’s largest concerts yet.
The concert, set to take place July 25 through August 1st, has garnered worldwide interest, with over 10 million people already signed up to attend. Ahead of the event, bbno$ has begun to tease the possibility of dropping new music tomorrow, July 23, while fans can also expect a new set for the show.
Notably, bbno$ has also revealed that his portion of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), an organization dedicated to aiding child sex abuse victims and removing child sex abuse material from online spaces. Speaking on why he decided to partner with the IWF, bbno$ shared:
”To raise funds that will help past victims and to offer the greatest protection of future victims from online / internet misconduct. The safety of youth online is unbelievably important; because of this, my portion of all revenue generated from this event will be entirely donated.”
During the stream, bbno$ will have an active donation link for fans to donate to the IWF directly, and attendees can raise money through the purchases of in-game skins and other items with Robux as well.
With a large percentage of Roblox’s daily active users being children, this concert can serve as a great talking point surrounding internet safety and a step in the right direction towards making the platform safer for children overall.
