Anna Shoemaker releases liberating “Change My Mind”

Date:

Last month, indie pop artist Anna Shoemaker teamed up with Middle Part to give us the catchy “It’s Depression,” which Anna described as “an anxiety attack in a song.”  The track was her second single after “Sick!” from her debut album, which she is planning on releasing early next year.  Both tracks focused on mental health and trying relationships, tapping into the complex emotions that arise when faced with something bigger than yourself.  As difficult as it is to grow and figure things out at times, there are also the times when we need to be easy on ourselves and let things go, which Anna explores on her new single “Change My Mind.”

A semi-acoustic indie rock track, “Change My Mind” captures the angst and drama of a coming-of-age experience.  Anna pours her heart out over the layered instrumentation, describing how it feels to look on the bright side when everything seems to be falling apart around you.  Earnestly, she sings, “Maybe I’ll be okay in the morning / Change my mind, I’ll be fine without warning,” trying to make the best of any situation.  You can check it out below.

Anna also explains about the track,

“It’s about being hopeful while also accepting and welcoming your emotions as they come.  Writing this song really changed a lot for me.”

You can listen to “Change My Mind” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
