Jasmine.4.t puts on a joyous show in Boston

Date:

Jasmine.4.t made her return to Boston after touring with Lucy Dacus earlier this year and fans were eager to see her own headline tour, this time with a full band. Under the stage name jasmine.4.t, Jasmine Cruikshank was the first artist from the United Kingdom to be signed to indie folk powerhouse Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records. Jasmine had released her debut album You Are The Morning just this year back in January, and it is a beautiful work of art. More recently she released the deluxe version of the album (YBT Deluxe), which features five new beautiful songs. Jasmine stating that the deluxe is dedicated to her best friend Yulia Trot who got wrongly imprisoned – She used to roadie with us, and we miss her so much. A lot of the anger in my music comes from my anger at that situation, as well as my anger at the transphobic state,” says Jasmine

Jasmine’s shows are always a great testament to the importance of trans representation, through the good and bad, I feel like our shows have become very important community spaces, especially for trans women. It’s a really shit time for trans people around the world, so having these places where we can come together and meet each other — and I’ve had a lot of girls reach out to me and tell me that they’ve met their new best friends at my shows — means the world to me.” She does an amazing job of creating such a safe space and fans in the crowd in Boston were loving every moment of it all.

If you’ve never been to a Jasmine.4.t show then you’re truly missing out on a joyous night. Jasmine played all of the hits off of You Are The Morning like “Kitchen”, “Elephant”, and “Guy Fawkes Tesco Dissociation”, along with performing new songs off of the deluxe like “I Can’t Believe I Did This Without You”, and “Did U No”. Through moments of queer joy and rage, Jasmine and her band truly gave it their all and put on one hell of a show. Taking moments throughout the show to talk about the meaning behind songs, have silly banter with the crowd, and leading the room in a chant of ‘Free Palestine.’ Truly a night to remember.
