Holding Hour releases “Parallel Lines” under their new name

Holding Hour’s latest single “Parallel Lines” is dreamy, sad, and haunting. The Iowa-based band, formerly known as Elison, released their newest single “Parallel Lines” under their new name and is frequently influenced by My Bloody Valentine to Yo La Tengo. Their transformation invites listeners on a journey through their new sonic exploration, becoming an exciting venture into indie rock and dream-pop. 

Holding Hour is led by vocalist and guitarist Marissa Kephart, who describes “Parallel Lines” as a song about both the push and pull of relationships. Her dreamy vocal delivery lets listeners fall into her words like a cloud of smoke.

We’ve all had those moments (those years, even) of feeling like you and someone else are two different people — so close but not close enough. Over time, that love may fade into oblivion.

Bringing back old fans and inviting new fans to the distinctive sound of Holding Hour, multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer Scott Yoshimura, known for his work with The Envy Corps and Canby, produced the track with its eerie-inviting verses and catchy melodies.
