Drawing from his personal experiences, rising Pop-Latino artist SERGIO is able to curate an inspirational catalog of music that focuses on unity and perspective. As a first-generation Mexican American, SERGIO also integrates English and Spanish into his songs, giving us hits like “BACK UP,” “No Es Fácil,” and “Seguir Así.” This diversity contributes to his growing fanbase, which goes back to the days when he was in the popular boy band In Real Life. After they disbanded in 2020, SERGIO was able to take what he learned from the experience and apply it to future releases, especially through the help of the Pepsi Music Lab program. Through the program, which he graduated from last year, SERGIO was able to develop his skills as an artist and use new forms of technology to better promote his sound and overall brand. With so much at his disposal, SERGIO can go into 2024 strong, ready to make his fans, friends, and family “Proud.”
A motivational anthem, “Proud” touches on doing your part while in chase of success. We all have our reasons as to why we pursue a dream, whether it’s for selfish needs or to fulfill a promise made to others. On “Proud,” SERGIO wants to give back to those who got him where he is today, using that desire to drive him forward. Throughout the lighthearted pop track, SERGIO sings in English and Spanish, describing all he has learned on his journey and the way those around him got through tough times.
