Kid Prexy leans into instrumental roots with soul-striking ukulele track “Shooting Star”

At only 15, Kid Prexy is a multi-instrumentalist sparking a movement with his infectious hits that pivot from genre to genre and emerge with masterful precision every time.

His new single, “Shooting Star”, is yet another collaboration between Kid Prexy and the acclaimed producer Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft who has worked with the likes of Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly. “Shooting Star” is yet another example of Kid Prexy’s innate ability to capture the teenage spirit of pure romantic wonder with effervescent sonics and salt of the Earth lyricism.

“Shooting Star” opens with a riveting crescendo of percussion that meets an energy spike of a ukulele riff all captained by Kid Prexy’s ear-catching cadence. The music video captures him in his element as Kid Prexy galavants through a lavish villa with his trusted ukulele in hand. He sings, “You’re like a shooting star, woah – always taking me higher, the light to my fire.” Kid Prexy embraces the fluttering emotions of quintessential teen angst with gushingly vibrant lyrics that capture the buzz of young love.

Telling us more about “Shooting Star”, Kid Prexy reveals, “I wrote this song about that feeling of falling in love with someone the first time you see them.”
