Located just 30 miles south of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee the Graystone Quarry venue holds 7,500 concert goers, and this show was a near sell out. As the sun began to set on this beautiful 80º day fans quickly packed the venue ready for the night ahead.

Supporting Dermot Kennedy for this show was Sasha Alex Sloan. Sloan came out dressed to impress in a beautiful rose pink jumpsuit, and a smile that would light up the darkest room. American singer songwriter Sasha Alex Sloan has became known for mastering the art of sad girl pop, with lyrics about break ups, innocence, and life the emotions in her lyrics are bursting at the seams. From Boston, Massachusetts she has always been interested in music, and even taught herself how to play piano at the age of five. Fans were clearly familiar with Sloan as she played her set, singing along to the words and dancing could be seen throughout the venue. As she gazed into the crowd she smiled, and seemed in awe of all her fans, it was a beautiful thing to witness. As the night grew darker it was time for the incredible Irish singer songwriter, Dermot Kennedy to take stage. Anticipation was rising as fans were ready to see him perform, some stating they had traveling from Alabama, Georgia, and even Missouri. From Rathcoole County Dublin, Ireland Dermot Kennedy has blown up in the music industry the last few years with his folk meets hip hop style. Always being musically inclined he began playing guitar at age 10, songwriting at age 14, and began busking around the city at age 17. Since then he has performed all over the world, including his first festival right here in Tennessee at Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2017. Before he entered the stage the band played a beautiful melody as the words ” When time makes this a memory these songs will be what’s left of me, but for one night in Tennessee I need to hear you sing to me” slowly appeared across the screen, quickly we all realized Kennedy was about to grace us with a beautiful night. Opening with the song “Blossom” Kennedy began singing with pure raw emotion, as he darted across the stage he hit every note flawlessly. As fans began singing along, it was clear that even though he is from across the pond in Ireland, the fans here in the United States adore him. During his 19 song set he played several favorites including “An Evening I Will Not Forget,” “Innocence and Sadness,” “Kiss Me,” and his newest single “Don’t Forget Me” before closing out with “Something to Someone.” It was a truly magical night that was a once in a lifetime experience.
