ROSIE learns to accept unwanted feelings on “Sad Sad Sad”

Date:

Always one to be up-front and real about what she is going through, singer-songwriter ROSIE demonstrates that the best way to make a breakthrough is to be honest.  She strives to create a safe space online with her music, giving her thousands of TikTok followers songs that help them get through the good days, as well as the bad.  Building towards the release of her debut EP later this year, ROSIE has released four singles this year that highlight her songwriting expertise.  Her fifth and latest single, “Sad Sad Sad,” represents the theme of this new EP, which focuses on the five stages of grief.

On “Sad Sad Sad,” ROSIE opens up about succumbing to feelings to sadness, despite a year of working on herself.  She explains,

The song represents acceptance and how, after a full year of healing and growing, sadness can still creep in.  This feeling is a reminder that sometimes there are certain scars that never go away, and when sadness is accepted it can serve as a lesson to never repeat the same mistake twice.”

No matter how much time and energy you put into getting to a good place, setbacks will always happen.  Over gentle guitar and dramatic drums, ROSIE emphasizes the complexity of the situation, mentioning that she is fighting with her medication and acting like she is fine, but she is really breaking down.  While she does her best to “wake up smiling,” she still feels “sad, sad, sad, sad, sad,” and that is more than alright – everyone is human.  You can check out the video below.

You can listen to “Sad Sad Sad” on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
