Medium Build in Los Angeles @ The El Rey Theater

Date:

Medium Build brought raw vulnerability and laid-back charm to the historic El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles this Thursday, delivering a set that felt as intimate as a living room session and as emotionally charged as a breakup text you never meant to send. Equal parts emotional catharsis and communal hang, the show was everything fans have come to love about Nick Carpenter: deeply honest, a little messy in the best way, and completely unafraid to feel everything out loud.

The Setlist was a thoughtful mix of older favorites and newer cuts, Carpenter’s voice — raspy, tender, a little weathered around the edges — carried beautifully in the El Rey’s cozy, golden-lit hall.

Medium Build isn’t just making music — he’s making a space for people to feel more human. And in a city like L.A., where performances can sometimes feel more polished than personal, this show was a powerful reminder that there’s nothing more magnetic than sincerity.
