Teanga Teanga is a global, creative collaboration. Championed by New York-based vocalist Pamela Sue Mann and Dublin-based producer Paul Murphy (pxmurphy), Teanga Teanga is a sonic amalgamation of cultures. Their new single, “Around The World”, is a celebration of humanity’s past, present, and future. The single is an ode to the harmony, love, and emotions that exist outside of time.
“Around The World” shines with iridescent electronics, haunting harmonies, and evocative strings. Teanga Teanga offers their take on the classic Nat King Cole song, with timeless sensibilities and an abstract sonic aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from the past while weaving in textiles of tomorrow, “Around The World” is a work of art for every era.
Revealing more the inspiration behind their track, Mann confides, “If you’re going to do a cover, you’ve got to have something soulful — depth, honesty, empathy. Otherwise you’re just doing a cover.” Teanga Teanga describes their song as, “time travel through music.”
Each member of Teanga Teanga has collaborated with a vast array of musicians. Mann has worked with Donna Lewis, Suzanne Vega, and Gerry Leonard. Outside of his work in the duo, Murphy is a part of the band, Electric Penguins. “Around The World” captures the spirit of Teanga Teanga as a driving force in modern electronic and indie.
