Melding together carefully cultivated harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, independent LA-based artist Skofee, aka Anna Scholfield, showcases her talents in a fancy feel-good, upbeat single titled “Angels Cry.”

The song blends together a punchy disco-like beat with symphonic violins, the instrumentals resembling the style of ABBA. It then adds in smooth, husky vocals similar to Kali Uchis. The intimacy and rawness of the song leaves listeners wanting more, putting us into a hypnotic state. It’s the perfect vibe for the spookiness of Halloween. Skofee shares more about the song:

” i wrote this song in my attic after listening to an unhealthy amount of abba. i think it would be great for halloween playlists given the lyrics ‘when you touch me i die, i hear the angels cry.’ “

The release of “Angels Cry” follows after praises surrounding her single “Someone to Worry About,” released in August of this year, joining the ranks of other singles such as “Idaho” and popular EP Joyland.

Skofee, along with artists such as Cauley and Max of About You, is currently set to be performing at a mid-October show this Friday, Oct. 17, at Permanent Records Road House in Los Angeles, CA.

Stream “Angels Cry” on all streaming platforms.
