Steven Malcolm flexes his star power in new music video for “Cardio”

Date:

To be as iconic as Steven Malcolm, a few factors must be in place. The first factor is the ability to create music that can cross genres, incorporating elements of rap, hip-hop, pop, and reggae that can speak to a diverse audience. The second is the ability to make a difference through the music, as Steven’s messages touch on faith and the desire to be the best version of himself. Lastly, we wouldn’t be able to get anywhere without a little cardio, as Steven mentions in his latest single. Released September 15, “Cardio” is an empowering anthem that enables listeners to look within themselves and find what is needed to come out on top. The horn fanfare, smooth melodies, Steven’s irresistible flow, and motivational lyrics make it a stunning single from his upcoming album, which is due for release next year.

About “Cardio,” Steven shares,

“I wanted to make an anthem I would have listened to in the high school locker room before a big game. This song is all about owning the greatness that results from hard work and dedication. We all have a race to run. To be great and keep keeping on takes two things: a little inspiration and cardio!”

In his new music video for the single, Steven incorporates his various hobbies and interests, such as fashion, exercise, and dance. We watch as he turns it out at a photo shoot, wearing the latest trends and hitting some fierce poses. He can also be seen bringing the lines of the song to life with choreography and exercise, matching lyrics like “Demons keep sliding on me / But I ain’t selling my soul” and “Running this thing like cardio,” with the appropriate visuals. Last year, Steven Malcolm released Tree, a 16-track project that expanded his musicianship and his overall story. The album went on to earn a nomination for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year at the upcoming GMA Dove Awards. Find out if Steven will win when the show takes place October 20, 2023, on TBN.

You can listen to “Cardio” on platforms like SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music.
